As the saying goes "necessity is the mother of all inventions". This informed the building of this gate. As a result of a flood, the then Emir directed Turakin Kano HASHIMU, who was in charge of works, to build this gate 'kofar Dole', so as to control the flood disaster. It was also named 'kofar Alasan' because of its closeness to the residence of a very popular merchant, Alhaji Alasan Dantata. It is located near the Kano main abattoir.
